More About Austin Wilson

The Norwayne FFA is hosting its 16th Annual Benefit for Austin Wilson. Austin graduated from Norwayne and the Wayne County Schools Career Center for Ag Mechanics. He was a member of the FFA, track and football. He enjoys anything to do with farming, including harvesting organic crops and raising dairy cattle.
Austin was diagnosed with Secondary Chondrosarcoma cancer. At age 17, he lost hearing in his left ear after surgery to remove a large, benign tumor from his inner ear and outer brain. Twelve years later, tumors developed in his hip. When conventional doctors recommended amputation as the only option, Austin chose an alternative approach to save his leg, seeking other alternatives, including three different treatments in Mexico. Although he never regretted his decision, these treatments have not been enough, and the hip tumors are now more cancerous and continue to grow.
With this, Austin knows that God has led him here every step of the way to the very spot he wants him, and is very thankful for that. God has always made a way, and will continue to do so. Members of the Norwayne FFA pride themselves in their ability of “Living to Serve,” and we are excited for the opportunity to support Austin in his journey.
